The incident happened on Saturday, Feb. 11, around 4 p.m., when police in Mount Vernon learned of a man lying on the ground in the area of North Columbus Avenue (Route 22) and East Lincoln Avenue.
After arriving at the scene, authorities found the victim unresponsive and discovered a single stab wound to his chest. He was then taken to Mount Vernon Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injury.
The victim's name is being withheld by police as his family is notified.
